Yoder Family Farms

Lone Tree, Iowa

100% Premium Duroc Pork

When we decided to get back into the pig business after a decade a way, we had 3 requirements. We wanted pigs that had exceptional quality pork (marbling and tenderness), we needed them to be hardy since they are raised outside in all the seasons Iowa weather has to offer, and we needed them to be productive. Many breeds of pigs, or crossbreeds of pigs, would excel at one or two of those, but the Duroc is what met our requirements. The Duroc, red in color, also produces some of the best pork you can find. Higher marbling content, more tender, and more flavorful than what you will find in the store. Our herd of just 20 sows is small, but gives us the flexibility to focus on genetics to produce pigs that allow us to offer 100% pure Duroc pork, straight from our farm to your table. What you are buying is the same great pork we are feeding our family every day.

About us

The Yoder family resides in Lone Tree, Iowa, the heart of pig country, and have been raising pigs since the 1970s, but was temporarily halted in 2008. In 2018 Chad and Tiffany moved their young family back to the farm and began raising purebred Duroc pigs with the goal of producing a product that was good enough to sell to family, friends, and across the United States. Raising pigs has always been a huge part of our lives and we are very blessed that God has provided us with the opportunity to raise our family the same way we grew up; caring for pigs on the family farm. Our farm is just as much about instilling the core values of working on our family farm in our three young sons as it is about producing high quality Duroc pork. Thank you for taking time learn about our family and farm. We look forward to providing you with the highest quality 100% Duroc pork. Chad, Tiffany, Luke, Owen, and Adam

The next generation

Working on the farm and caring for pigs and producing the highest quality pork to share is rewarding on its own, but the most enjoyable part of what we can ever do on our farm is mold 3 young men. Most importantly we teach them to be followers of Jesus by being servants to others. Serving others by learning to work hard, sacrifice your own desires to help others, and to care for the animals that have been put under their supervision. We love to see their passion and enthusiasm for the farm grow every day. The number of hours spent out at the barn don't seem so long when you have a couple young boys at your heels eager to learn and help.
